Resumo:
In this work we present a study on excitation systems of synchronous generators. Starting from a general scheme of a control system of the excitation of a synchronous generator, presented in block diagram, the performance of each part that constitutes it is discussed. After an individual analysis of each block, the complete system model is presented, with the objective of establishing and comparing the models
used to classically represent excitation systems in power system stability studies. Based on classical control theory, a stabilizer signal derived from machine speed and designed to improve the dynamic performance of a power system via voltage regulator / excitation system. The design is based on a linearized model of a power system, characterized by a machine with static excitation system connected to an infinite bar through an equivalent impedance.
