Rendimento da transesterificação de óleo de girassol.

Abstract

The biodiesel´s production starts to detach in Brazil, especially after the national politics that authorizes its addition to diesel. Dealing with a new fuel, it is necessary to explore all the chain production (oilseeds cultivation, extraction of oils and chemical reactions) obtaining data and information to optimize the production process. Biodiesel was gotten by transesterification, in accordance with a simple methodology found in literature. The 92% average rate in terms of ester was obtained, calculated by mass balance referred to the total of sunflower oil used. This result is similar to those found on literature.
