Résumé:
The monographic work titled “The Expansion of the Schooling Journey in Parari-PB:
Infrastructure Aspects and Organization of Pedagogical Work” presents as its object of study
the extension of the school day at Escola Cidadã Integral Jairo Aires Caluête in the municipality
of Parari-PB within the context of Integral Education, discussing its infrastructural,
organizational, and pedagogical challenges. The research employs a documentary and field
approach, analyzing data collected through a questionnaire applied to teachers and school
administrators. The study historically contextualizes the expansion of school hours in Brazil
and its relation to educational policies such as the BNCC (National Common Curricular Base)
and the High School Reform. It highlights the lack of adaptation of school infrastructure to the
integral model, with issues such as the absence of a cafeteria, lack of air conditioning in leisure
spaces, and the absence of resting areas for students. Additionally, it points out difficulties in
the organization of pedagogical work, including teacher overload, lack of continuous training,
and student demotivation. The research addresses formative itineraries and the reduction of
class hours for traditional curriculum subjects as pedagogical changes that compromise
learning. It concludes that the implementation of Integral Education in the investigated school
faces structural and pedagogical issues that significantly impact the teaching-learning process,
making it increasingly challenging within the new Integral Education model widely
implemented in Brazil.
