Abstract:
The decomposition of the organic material by anaerobic bio-digestion differs
itself according its physic, chemistry and biologic characteristics – resulted of the composition
of the diet and of the type of residue’s handling – that influences biogas composition. Thus,
the object of this work was to analyze the process of the anaerobic bio-digestion of residues of
lactates goats fed with different diets, aiming for defining the influence of the food on
produced biogas. The test was conducted in the experimental porch of the Caprinocultura
sector, and in the Laboratory of Rural Constructions of the University Federal of Viçosa,
during four months. It was utilized 12 adults’ goats that didn’t produce milk, breeds Saanen
and Alpine. The potential production of biogas (silage) was 0.0230 m3/kg of volatile solids,
less than that composed by grass (0.0284 m3/kg) and hay (0.0260 m3/kg).
