Résumé:
Brazil is the largest world’s meat producer and has an import external market. Facing the
new animal welfare international demands there is the need to update the Brazilian legislation, which is
from the 30s and does not reflect the actual national animal production scenario. This research has as
general objective to study the animal housing and transportation conditions, in order to develop subsidies
for finding an adequate solution to Brazilian reality. In this study case the focus was to compare norms
adopted from several countries in poultry and layers production, and compare them to the Brazilian ones.
It was noticed that Brazilian norms are out of date with relation to several itens.
