Abstract:
Several resources and stimuli are necessary to accommodate bovine in good welfare
conditions. This issue has gained higher importance along the last years due to the complexity of
production and reproduction factors that may inter-correlate. As this nowadays it is searched more
reliable and efficient methods for obtained information about housed animals with more precision. The
objective of this research is the use of vocalization understanding to evaluated behavioral pattern of
dairy cows confined in free stall system during hoof trimming. São Pedro County, SP. Vocalization of
dairy cows during hoof trimming were collected and recorded through the software Audacity 1.3
Beta®
. Using the same software ambient noise was removed and the cow tag number 1145
vocalization waves and spectra were generated. It is supposed that the produced vocalization is related
to pain or discomfort; however news tests have been done to check on this assumption.
