Resumen:
The study focuses on discussions about the challenges of education in the Early
Years in the post-pandemic period, more specifically, observing the implications at
this level of education with the implementation of an educational program adopted by
the Municipal Department of Education of the city of Cajazeiras-PB. Thus, the
guiding question of the study was: how do teachers of the Early Years of Elementary
School in Cajazeiras/PB evaluate the Alfabetiza Cajazeiras program as a post-
pandemic learning recovery plan? The general objective was to understand how
teachers of the Early Years evaluate the Alfabetiza Cajazeiras program as a post-
pandemic learning recovery plan. The specific objectives were: to identify the
strategies implemented by the Municipal Department of Education of Cajazeiras/PB
to support teachers during remote teaching and to perceive the contributions and
limitations of joining the Alfabetiza Cajazeiras program soon after the return to face-
to-face classes. The methodology used to conduct the research was initially based
on a bibliographic and exploratory study of the technical material already published
on the topic under study. Then, data were produced through a semi-structured
interview with teachers from a public school in the city of Cajazeiras/PB, and a
qualitative perspective was adopted in the analysis of the information collected. The
results of the research showed that the teachers recognize the contributions of the
Alfabetiza Cajazeiras program, especially for the development of reading, writing and
logical-mathematical reasoning in the context of recovery of learning after remote
teaching. However, they highlighted some limitations of the Program, since it focuses
exclusively on the subjects of Portuguese and mathematics, in addition to the rigidity
of the planning proposed by the materials that are already structured to be
implemented in the classroom.
