Resumo:
Education is a complex and multiple phenomenon that takes place in many forms in society,
such as formal education, non-formal and informal education. The pedagogue, in common
sense, has his identity very restricted only to school spaces and dealing with children.
However, in these studies, the breadth of the profile and professional role of pedagogues
stands out, who as educational scientists, understand and must be able to deal with the most
different and multiple facets in which education takes place in society. Thus, this research
arose from the concern of knowing what are the challenges and possibilities of the role of
pedagogues in non-school spaces? To this end, the main objective of this work is to analyze
the challenges and possibilities of pedagogues who work in non-school spaces. As specific
objectives we have: 1. Highlight which environments education professionals can work in
addition to school, 2. Reflect on the role and identity of pedagogues and 3. Carry out a
bibliographical research on how pedagogues work in spaces that are not schoolchildren. The
methodology adopted to understand the objectives of this work was a bibliographic and
exploratory research, researched based on the keywords that involve the theme in question.
Thus, it was found that the pedagogue is an education professional who works in the hospital
environment and who has their specificities in relation to the way in which hospitalized
children who are monitored by hospital pedagogues are taught.
