Résumé:
The present work was conducted in the Unity of Production and Use of Biogas, at the
Universidade Federal de Lavras. Its objective was to develop and to evaluate the biogas powering
system of a 4 - timing stationary motor with 4077W nominal potency to a 4200 rpm, coupled to a
generator of 2400W with operational rotation of 3600 rpm. The experiments were accomplished with
a gasoline operating motor on its original version and adapted for biogas. The used biogas was
produced in a biodigestor Indian model starting from bovine manure, containing, on average of 63%
of methane. For all the experiments, it was measured the rotations and the consumption of the motor,
besides the tension and generated current to feed the three resistive potencies equal to 1000, 1200 and
1500W. For the motor-generator group operating the biogas, it was experienced two carburetion
options: one with the venturi-type carburetor especially calculated, and the other with the original
carburetor of the adapted motor to operate with biogas. They were experieced with the adapted
original carburetor, operating with the spark-plug on the normal position and with the spark-plug on
the advanced postion. This last one had the best performance for the biogas operating machine, which
was by moving the spark-plug to + 4,82o
in the relation original position.
