Resumo:
The energy obtained from the sun – both thermal and electric – is still low in efficiency;
due to it, it is necessary to analyse the solarimetric parameters to make it possible to define the correct
size of the equipment, avoiding wrong results. In western Paraná, to do the analysis , it is necessary to
consider the influences of altitude and latitude, Iguassu Nacional Park and Itaipu Lake. The altitude
has straight influence on the value of the sun irradiation, as it can be seen in Cascavel, that at an
altitude of 781 m has maximun monthly sun irradiation of 27,42MJ.m-2, in Medianeira, at an altitude
of 500 m has maximun monthly sun irradiation of 26,31MJ.m-2 and in Nova Prata do Iguaçu, at an
altitude of 438 m has maximun monthly sun irradiation of 22,92MJ.m-2, but, in São Miguel do Iguaçu,
at an altitude of 298 m and in Foz do Iguaçu, at an altitude of 162m – cities with lower altitudes – the
monthly sun irradiation is higher (28,19MJ.m-2 and 26,31MJ.m-2 respcetively); The last two cities are
located near Itaipu Lake and the higher sun irradiation can be related to this fact and the to the
influence of the global radiation.
