The forest sector search the wooden production of fast growth and high quality. The
genetic improvement, the clone and the hybrid of forest species of the kind Eucalyptus are one of the
viable alternatives for the increase of the productivity of reforestations. Considering the scene of the
Brazilian forest sector, the objective of this work is to evaluate the productivity of the wood of
reforestation with six different treatments, being they: one seminal and two clones of Eucalyptus
grandis and three clones of hybrids of E. grandis x E. urophylla, from the physical-energy
characteristics, searching quantitative answers for the genetic improvement, the carried through clone
and the hybrid in reforestations of 6 years of age cultivated in the region of Botucatu/SP. The basic
density was determined by the method of immersion in water and the productivity determined in terms
of annual average increments of volume, mass and energy. It was concluded that the productivity of
clones of hybrids of E. grandis x E. urophylla got approximately, in basic average, densities 23 %
greater, 3 % to less of rind, 11 m3/ha.ano more, 10 ton./ha.ano more and almost the 47 Gcal/ha.ano
more of the one than seminal and clones of E. grandis, when cultivated in same edáfo-climatic
conditions in the center of the State of São Paulo of Brazil.
