Resumo:
This work presents the rain gauge alternative conception designed for familiar
farmers, and has as the main aim, to improve the agriculture activities planning, because permits to
estimate the rain precipitation, improving the management of the irrigated crops in rural lands. The
rain gauge is composed by a soft drink, a “PET” model, with 2,5 liter volume capacity. The
experiment was done using a comparative analyses of the monthly total registered in the alternative
rain gauge, during the raining season (may-October) 2005, with the Ville de Paris rain gauge,
considered as a standard in this study. The data obtained permit to verify that there wasn’t
significant differences between the precipitation values collected by the two devices in the studied
time, permitting to infer that the alternative rain gauge, can be considered as a good option to
improve the management of the small farm irrigation.
