Résumé:
The purpose of this experiment was to evaluate the sanitary conditions of growing
lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) using localized drip irrigation with water receiving urban effluents. The
findings indicated contamination of soil and plants by fecal coliforms, although Salmonella spp and
evolutive forms of human parasites were not detected in plant, soil and water samples. The
arrangement of the drip hoses on the beds and disinfection with chloride did not affect the amount of
microorganisms in the irrigation water.
