Resumo:
The grant of water use application in a region needs a detailed study of water
availability of the rivers, beyond the quantity of water required in each case. The aim of this paper is
the evaluation of water availability for irrigation in the Ibicuí River Basin and Santa Maria River
Basin, analyzing dry, wet and mean years’ sceneries. The methodology consists in the division of the
drainage network in Reference Hydrologic Sections (SHRs), where are doing field measures.
Historical data of flow are used too, to resolve the water availability. The sceneries are elaborate using
residence curves, which are based on the happening of dry, wet and mean years along the time, in
other words, climate sceneries. To evaluate the water quality availability, the criterion used was to
dilute the load of water quality parameters in the reference flow of grant. The analysis of the global
water balance results in stringency to part of the study area, especially the inflow areas situated on the
left bank of the Ibicuí river, including the Santa Maria river basin.
