Resumo:
For the assessment of water quality in two dams, of importance for irrigation in the
Acaraú Basin, a comparison was made of hydro-chemical characteristics of these waters and the risk
of infiltration problems they could promote. Despite of different geometry and geomorphology of the
dams, their hydro-chemical type is the same; however, they classify different for irrigation. The Ayres
de Souza Dam, recharge by waters from the sedimentary portion of the Basin, presents water of very
low salinity that, according to to UCCC classification, carries about severe risk of infiltration
problems, being classified C1S3. On the other hand, Edson Queiroz Dam presented water with low
salinity with crescent risk of water infiltration problems (C1S2).
