Abstract:
Measurement of dry matter is important in studies of plant growth. Researchers often
rely on empirical mathematical models to predict plant response to environmental condition
over time. The objective of this work was to fit four growth models to dry matter in muskmelon.
A pot experiment was carried out using muskmelon in two soils in a randomized complete block
with four replications. The aerial portion of the plants was weighed and fitting the non-linear
growth models of the Gompertz, Richards, Logístico e Maia & Morais. All the models analyzed
should be used to estimate the dry matter in muskmelon.
