Résumé:
Castor (Ricinus communis L.) is a plant it can be explored in irrigated areas of the
brazilian Northeast, mainly in the situations of reuse of wastewater. It is a plant explored by the
industry with several purposes, biodiesel production for example, without alimentary problems and
implications. Recently matter on biodiesel were approved by Brazilian government, motivating the
cultivation in the Country, especially in the Northeast. In this point of view this work was carried out,
with the purpose of studying the possible effects of the application of domestic wastewater on the
castor growth in green-house. It was adopted 5x2 factorial scheme in randomized complete blocks
with 3 replications, each replication was represented by the average of 2 plants cultivated in separate
recipients. 5 levels of replacement of the crop evapotranspiração were tested (L1 = 60%, L2 = 75%, L3
= 90%, L4 = 105% and L5 = 120%) and 2 cultivates, BRS-149 Nordestina and BRS-188 Paraguaçu.
The studied variables, plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area and shoot phytomass,
increased significantly with increment of replacement of the evapotranspiration. The cultivate BRS-
188 Paraguaçu presented larger growth in height, number of leaves and shoot phytomass. Interaction
effect was not observed.
