Abstract:
The experiment was carried out at UFLA, Lavras/MG and its objective was to study
the effects of depth of irrigation on (Cucumis melo L., var. Inodorus, cv. Vereda) cultivated in
greenhouse. A drip irrigation system having one drip by plant, used to irrigate the crops every other
day. The treatments consisted of four irrigation levels based on evaporation fractions of a reduced
class A pan (ECAr): 0.5*ECAr; 0.75*ECAr; 1.0*ECAr and 1.25*ECAr. Each treatment of
irrigation depth was composing by 3 rows, each one containing 8 plants. Was considerated 6 plants
from central row each irrigation depth. The sprout number, the plant height and stem diameter
measures was doing interval of 7 and 15 days. In the irrigation depth equivalent 0,75*ECAr, the
plant height average and stem diameter average measures tendency to be higger than other
treatments and the highest sprout number with irrigation depth 1,0*ECAr
