Resumo:
Due to the high economic potential of the drip irrigation system, added to
requirement for research about cultures irrigated by means of this system, there has been an increase
in the need for information on this activity. This is especially due to the design and management of
that irrigation system. This project’s purpose was to study the soil wetted volume establishment,
evaluating the effect of the water-soil relationship that may affect the soil water’s distribution and
storage. The rehearsal was accomplished in conditions of deformed soil, being applied 1 L of water
every hour until the wetted front to reached the bottom of box, by emitters with different rate (2, 4
and 8 L/h). We found approaches that allow providing basic information for drip irrigation design
and management. These factors allow a better irrigation use.
