Resumo:
The pedagogical use of games in the classroom can stimulate students in the construction of thinking in a meaningful way and in social life, from the moment they are used as didactic strategies before and after the presentation of new content, reinforcing learning. Therefore, our general objective is to show the relevance of playful resources in teaching and learning English in elementary school. As for the specific objectives, we have: 1. To show the difficulties and possibilities of teaching English language nowadays; 2. To define the use of playfulness during the process of planning and teaching a second language; and 3. Propose an interactive didactic sequence model through playful activities for application in the classroom. We consider it of fundamental importance to use games and play in the educational environment to instigate creativity, logical reasoning, and team interaction, essential points for the formation of the individual. Thus, realizing the lack of motivation of public school students for learning a second language, we thought of a proposal of activities with games and play to facilitate learning and interest in studying the English language, in which we propose an Interactive Didactic Sequence. For this, a bibliographic research was carried out with a qualitative approach and based on the theoretical assumptions of authors such as: Dallabona (2004); Alves (2010); Brazil (2012); Friendmann (2012); Holden (2009); Oliveira (2012), Oliveira (2013) among others, who defend and highlight the benefits of playfulness in the lives of children and adolescents, contributing to the improvement of language, socialization, autonomy and self esteem. Therefore, we believe that English language teachers can broaden their horizons in search of different ways of encouraging, valuing and interacting with students, with a view to promoting English language teaching and learning, creating environments with a timely, joyful atmosphere and pleasant to carry out this work.
