Resumen:
ABSTRACT: This work had as objective to evaluate the growth of the plant of the maize submitted
to the terminal hídric deficit in ground of different texture. The experiment was lead in the
experimental area of the laboratory of ambient sciences of the course of Agricultural Engineering of
the UNIOESTE, having used itself a set of eight filled lisimeter of draining with ground of sand
texture (Arenito Caiuá) and clay (Latossolo Bruno Distrófico) and protected of precipitations. The
experimental delineation entirely was random with two manage of irrigation water (irrigated and
applied terminal hidric deficit during I serve as apprentice it of vegetative development). Parameters
that had been evaluated: leaf area, senescence and elongation of leaf. The joined results had been
submitted to the analysis statistics through Test-T for the comparison of measured them. The
differences between averages had been compared by the test in level of significance of 5%. The leaf
area of the maize plants was bigger in ground of sand texture from that in ground of argillaceous
texture, for one same depth of the ground, to put the cultivated plants of maize in ground of clay
texture had suffered little with the intensification from the hidric deficit.
