Abstract:
This work aimed to evaluate the rain gauge height installation influence in the rain
precipitation estimation, evaluating daily and monthly total rain precipitation, during the rainy
season in 2005. the precipitation data were collected using five alternative rain gauges, installed in
the UFRPE Agrometeorology Experimental Station, in the heights of 1,0m; 1,5m; 2,0m; 2,5m; and
3,0m. the results obtained from the week average precipitations, at the rain gauges, permit to
observe that there was similarity in the five heights studied, and there wasn’t significant difference
at the 5% level of probability, when using Tukey test.
