Abstract:
Now, the ornamental pineapple (Ananas comosus var. erectifolius) it occupies the
second position in the ranking of exports from Ceará of flowers and ornamental plants. Like this, due
to great demand of the consumer market, the culture is being produced in commercial scale through
the micropropagation. The acclimatization, the last stage of the micropropagation, is responsible for
high mortality rate and low growth rates of the plants due to the little information on the handling of
the plants in this phase. In the sense of filling out the existent gap with technical and scientific
information on the appropriate handling of the culture, the present work had as objective evaluates the
effect of different sheets irrigation in the acclimatization of seedlings micropropagated of that
ornamental species. In that experiment, driven in Embrapa Agroindústria Tropical-CE (3º44' S and
38º33' W), four irrigation sheets were analyzed: 1, 2, 3 and 4 mm of water, to the 52 and 83 DAT. The
results evidenced the best development of the seedlings micropropagated of ornamental pineapple
when irrigated with the sheets of 1 mm to 52 DAT and the 2 mm until 83 DAT.
