Resumen:
The aim of this work is to apply a multicriteria decision technique as a decision support
system to choose a set of cultures among 13 types of seasonal, perennial or semi-perennial crops to be
grown at the Souza irrigated perimeter. Economical, social and environmental criterias were taken into
account in the analysis. The maximization of the net profits and the number of jobs involved in the work,
as well as, the minimization the use of agricultural defensive and water supply demand were taken into the
problem. However, is difficult to obtain a solution that satisfies all requirements, mainly due to the
antagonism of their characteristics. Therefore, it is necessary to group some criteria and weight them
according to desired choice of the culture characteristics. The result of the multicriteria analysis have
shown that the changing weights results in different cultures choice and, thus, being highly promising as
an aid of the agricultural planning.
