Resumo:
It was aimed in this study to evaluate the influence of irrigation and different hibernal
pruning dates in the phenology of peach tree, cv. Diamante, as well as to verify its reflexes on the
production. The experiment was carried out in a 4-year- commercial orchard, conducted in “Y”
system, spaced 4 x 2 m, in the municipality of Lavras, MG, during the 2003/2004 and 2004/2005
season. It was studied the following pruning dates: 05/01, 05/15, 06/01, 06/15. Experimental design
was random blocks, with 8 treatments and 3 repetitions in a 4 x 2 factorial outline (four pruning dates
with and without irrigation), being each plot composed of four plants. It can be concluded that the best
results were obtained with prunings in 05/15 (no irrigation) and 06/01 (with irrigation), allowing to
anticipate harvesting in 31 to 37 days, giving a relatively high production (14,17 kg/plant with no
irrigation and 14,33 kg/plant with irrigation, respectively). The use of irrigation made possible to
obtain bigger fruits (108,91g), independently of the pruning date.
