Resumen:
The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of the soil humidity in the field
capacity (FC) in the tensions of 0,006 MPa (FC1), 0,010 MPa (FC2) and 0,033 MPa (FC3), in the tax of
growth of the coffee plant conilon, in a Red-Yellow Oxisol and Red-Yellow Ultisol. The experiment
was let vegetation home in NEDTEC-CCA-UFES, municipal district of Jerônimo Monteiro-ES. The
used vegetable species was Coffea canephora Pierre, Robusta Tropical variety (EMCAPER 8151),
being cultivated the plants in vases of 12 liters during 255 days. The tenor of soil humidity in the field
capacity varies with the tension adopted in its determination. The largest taxes of relative growth
(RGR) and absolute (AGR) of the coffee plant conilon they were obtained when the humidity of the
soil was maintained close the certain field capacity in the tension of 0,010 MPa in Red-Yellow Oxisol
and of 0,006 MPa in Red-Yellow Ultisol. The smallest taxes of growth of the culture were observed in
the certain field capacity in the tension of 0,033 MPa, what unfeasible its adoption in the estimate of
the irrigation sheet, being used the camera of pressure of Richards, in both studied soils.
