Resumo:
The work is linked to the theme History of Education and Teacher Training. The study proposes a discussion on the subject History of Education as a curricular component present in the training of pedagogues, and, in particular, of two teachers working in the Canaúna District (Ipaumirim-CE). The general objective of the work is to reflect on the contributions of the subject History of Education to the teaching activity. The scientific approach of the work is defined as qualitative, involving field research in the locus of investigation and the conducting of interviews; bibliographic review; and documentary research based on the location and analysis of course plans that guided the training of two teachers working in the initial years of Elementary School. The monographic text is organized into an Introduction, three sections of a theoretical-methodological and analytical nature, and final considerations. Based on the investigation of course plans and analytical discussions linked to the interviewees' statements and the theoretical framework, it was possible to reflect on the contributions of the disciplines History of Education I and II to teaching activities, considering the relevance of the discipline History of Education, especially in the sense of enabling the construction of a solid knowledge base that contributes to the formation of critical and reflective thinking, as a theoretical and methodological foundation for thinking historically.
