Abstract:
Soil water erosion is one of the most important types of soil degradation, bringing
serious problems to environment. Important mathematical inferences about soil water erosion behavior
at long of year are done with evaluation data come from directly of small watershed. This work goals
to quantify the soil water erosion of soils belong to Ribeirão Marcela watershed, its erodibility and
water losses under natural rainfall during hydrological year of 2004-2005. Five plots for soil and water
losses monitoring were installed according to soil classification and its nowadays use predominant.
Two plots are in Dystrophic Red Oxissol, being one with grass and another in soil bare; other two
plots in Yellow Red Oxissol, being one in grass and another with Eucalyptus and one plot in
Cambissol with grass. Cambissol was the soil that has presented the greatest soil and water losses and
the greatest erodibility, followed by Yellow Red Oxissol and Dystrophic Red Oxissol. Nowadays soil
use and slope of plots were the most important parameters for explanation of soil and water losses
inside of the same soil class.
