Resumo:
This work is concerned with the determination and analyse of the reliability, resilience
and vulnerability performance indexes for a potential irrigation water demand, which were attained
from a nonlinear optimization procedure, to be supplied by the Piranhas reservoir. The reservoir is
located at the semiarid region of Paraiba state. A simulation model over a 53 years monthly time series
data was used to determine those indexes. The optimal crop area allocation and their water
requirements were obtained from a nonlinear optimization model applied to a monthly averaged
climatic, agricultural and hydrologic data. The attained indexes were 84,6% for reliability, 29,6 %
resiliency and 75,3% for vunerability. Those results are in accordance with the semiarid region
reservoirs behavior, that is, when there exists water shortage it may last for a long time period (low
resilience) with a great impact (high vulnerability).
