Resumo:
The handling of watershed inside of the concept of objective multiple use that all the
resources are explored concomitantly, of integrated form. The evaluation of the water resources of the
small watershed in the zones northeast makes possible that it is carried through a correct planning and
handling of the natural resources. The objective of this work was to trace a profile of rational
exploration of the water of irrigation for the State of the Piauí, having as base the Basin of the River
Piranji. Inside of the basin the is located Dam Cottons, whose the characteristics are: localization city
of Cocal-PI, capacity 51,000,000 m3, hydraulical basin 288 ha. In the watershed of the River Piranji to
the ebb tide of the dam the implantation of 1.205,4 hectares irrigated with the traditional cultures of
the region. The rational management of the basin establishes the necessity of development of
integrated boarding of planning and management of the natural resources.
