Abstract:
The irrigation has been recognized as fundamental part in the handling of the culture of the
yellow passion fruit, mainly in the areas where the precipitation is considered reasonable, as it is the case
of the Southeast area. In spite of the few existent information about the irrigation of the passion fruit plant,
several authors harmonize that your use can prolong the production period, to increase the productivity
and to improve the quality of the fruits, being this more important although the cultivation is accomplished
vegetation home, where there is not incidence of natural precipitations. Seeking to obtain parameters of
decision with relationship to the handling of the irrigation of the yellow passion fruit, that work was led to
evaluate the effect of the different tensions of water in the soil about the productivity of the culture in the
area of Lavras-MG. The experiment was installed in the experimental area of the Engineering-UFLA with
experimental design in randomized blocks with four replications. The treatments were constituted of four
tensions of water in the soil preset in 15, 30, 45 and 60 kPa, to the depth of 0,20 m. The obtained results
allowed to end that: there was not significant difference inside among the productivity values and out of
the vegetation house nor for the interaction between both and enter the treatments.
