Implementação e efetividade das medidas protetivas da Lei Maria da Penha: um estudo de caso no município de Sumé-PB.

Abstract

The general objective of this study was to analyze the main challenges faced and how these measures are contributing to the protection of women victims of domestic violence in Sumé- PB, with the following specific objectives: to investigate how local authorities, including the Judiciary, the Military Police and the Public Prosecutor's Office, are applying the protective measures provided for in the Maria da Penha Law in Sumé-PB; to identify the main obstacles and challenges faced in the implementation of protective measures, considering the specific characteristics of the social and economic context of the municipality of Sumé-PB; and to analyze the impact of protective measures on the protection of women victims of domestic violence, evaluating their effectiveness in preventing new episodes of violence and ensuring the safety and well-being of victims. The study adopted a quantitative and exploratory approach, using a questionnaire applied to professionals responsible for implementing protective measures in Sumé-PB. The results show that, despite the relevance of protective measures in protecting victims, their effectiveness is limited by challenges such as judicial delays, lack of resources and coordination between agencies. Strategies such as training, infrastructure improvement and community awareness are essential to improve their implementation. Therefore, the study highlighted advances and challenges in the implementation of protective measures in Sumé-PB, pointing out the need for structural and institutional improvements to increase their effectiveness.
