Resumo:
This work was carried in experimental farm of the Dr. Francisco Maeda College,
Ituverava-SP, to evaluate the salinity tolerance of rocket press. Plants were cultivated in
artificially salinized soil with values of electrical conductivity of the saturation extract (ECs)
of 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 dS m-1. Yield was measured for each salinity level and a
linear regression test was performed in order to obtain the crop tolerance curve, which
correlates the potential yield with the soil salinity level. The results were analyzed in the
relative yield under different electric conductivities of the saturation extract. These values
were analyzed by lineal regression and it was obtained the curve of salt tolerance. The salinity
threshold value was determined in 2.1 dS m-1 and yield loss per unit increase in salinity was
10.3%. According to Mass (1984) diagram the rocket press was classified as moderately
sensitive to salinity.
