Abstract:
The Environmental Comfort Laboratory – LACA - of the Agricultural Engineering
Faculty – UFPEL - has been working on a proposal of incentive and innovation in the environmental
comfort for Agricultural buildings in lab classes by assembling didactic experiments. The aim is to
give the students access to an innovative educational practice that improve the presented concepts, in a
theoretical way, in class, arousing their interest in thermic comfort studies. In this work is given an
account of an experiment that consists of the assembly and evaluation of a model which makes
possible to visualize ventilation flows based on polystyrene little balls movement , with photographic
register, analyzed later. The flow was one of the approached themes due its importance for the act of
projecting, since it is through this that thermic and hygienic exchanges happen, influencing the
comfort conditions. The natural simulation is done through small fans attached to electric motors that
permit different orientations in relation to the fronts. The collection of photos of each simulation
permited a view of the ventilation flows inside the model. Based on this, we could see that, even
though the didactic aim was reached , the model must be improved in order to make the mobility of
internal compartments and the air speed control possible.
