Abstract:
Chiseling has been increasingly used for the solution of compaction problems originated
from no tillage which has caused severe problems to soil, plant and agricultural machines. However,
aspects such the permanence of chiseling effect on dynamic properties and their relation with drafts of
planter’s shaft are not know. This study aimed at the evaluation of chiseling effect on shearing parameters
and on drafts behavior of planter’s shaft. Chiseling along with traffic have direct influence on soil shear
resistance and soil cohesion, because the treatments that presented greater shear resistance and cohesion
required greater drafts. Recently chiseled soil along with traffic of agricultural machines produce larger
soil resistance than soil under no tillage for 13 year.
