Résumé:
The seeder-fertilizers machines in Brazilian market present different systems for
distribution of seeds and solid fertilizers. The auger meter used to apply fertilizers employs a helical
shaft and it is fitted in almost 70% of the seeders and planters sold in this market. The tests were made in a seeder-fertilizer machine to assess the influence of the fertilizer level in the hopper upon the rate of product metered by an auger type meter. Three levels of granular fertilizer were set in the machine hopper (1/1; ½ e ¼). The auger meters were permanently leveled in both longitudinal and transversal directions. Seven gear relations were used to cause different flows of product. The results indicate that, for the auger type meter, the amount of fertilizer in hopper affects the amount metered. The higher the level of product, greater is the amount metered.
