Resumo:
The present work evaluated parameters of development, harvesting losses and
productivity of one to cultivate corn hybrid in function of the handling of the culture of covering of the
soil (herbicide, rotary mowers and straws grinder) and initial population of plants (55,6, 60,6 and 67,9
a thousand plants ha-1), totalizing 9 treatments with 4 repetitions. One evaluated it height of the
plants, height of the insertion of the spike, diameter of stem, losses in the mechanized harvest, final
population, productivity, flow of grains, flow MOG and total flow in the harvester. The handling with
herbicide and rotary mowers had provided to greaters values in the changeable final population of
plants. The two lesser initial populations and the handling with the rotary mowers had provided to
greaters heights of plants. The initial population of 60,6 a thousand seeds ha-1 resulted in the biggest
final population of plants, of 55.555 plants ha-1. The losses in the harvester and the grain, MOG and
total flows had not suffered to influence from the handling or populations.
