Resumo:
The present work had for objective to evaluate the development, productivity and
resistance of the soil to the penetration in the cultures of black oat and fodder radish, in two types of
soil handling in the region of Lages, SC, observing the best covering of soil in a quantitative and
qualitative way. In this work the experimental design was used in blocks, tends in the portions the
preparation (with chiselling and without chiselling) and in the split plot the winter cultures (black oat
and fodder radish) and in the split split plot the depths in the soil (0-10, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-
50cm), with five repetitions. The productivity of the black oat was 46% larger than of the fodder
radish, being influenced by the handling with chiseling. The fodder radish under no tillage contributes
in the reduction of the resistance the penetration in 13%. The layer explored by the chiseling provided
smaller values of resistance of the soil to the penetration.
