Resumo:
The average productivity of the maize in Brazil, when compared with others countries, is
relatively low, can is related the factors, among them are the physical and chemical conditions of the
ground are the genetic potential of the used varieties and climate, as well as the cultural treatment
adopted, the density of plants and the favorable array of the plants. With the objective to study the density
of de plant and gap between rows, two experiments in LATOSSOLO BRUNO Dystrophic were
conducted, in the city of Cascavel, Paraná. Were evaluated: height of plants and productivity of grains for
plant and area. The experiments were done by the combination of three gaps between rows: 0,45; 0,65
and 0,80 m and three density of plant: 40,000, 57,000 and 75,000 plants ha-1. Experimental delineation of
random blocks, with four replications, for two simple hybrids of maize, called H1 and H2 was used. The
average plant height did not have significant influence from the combination density of plants and spacing
for the two hybrids. The H2 hybrid, presented biggest productivity in the 0,45m spacing.
