The destruction of cotton plants is an obligatory practice, as prophylaxis and it involves
several mechanized practices, which high cost yield. This work presents a prototype to uproot the
cotton plants, after harvest, developed by researchers of DSER / FAMEV of the Federal University of
Mato Grosso. The tests involved two extractor types, the first one, which have more aggressive
geometry, presented satisfactory performance to remove de cotton trash, and the other, less aggressive,
and was not efficient in the process to uproot cotton plants. The prototype had the highest performance
with 98% which was superior to the traditional process, using mower and Offset disc harrow, that had
89,7%.
