Resumo:
This work aimed to make an environmental impacts assessment in the waters of the perennial
section of Piancó river and making a qualitative analysis of the possible effects on primary
agroindustrial production in the influence area of the search. For such, a georeferencing of the
area from geoprocessing tools has been made. Then, a simplified environmental diagnosis of
the area were conducted through literature searches, field visits, geoprocessing, photo
documentation and consultations in government agencies, in which the anthropic activities
with impactful potential of the river waters have been selected. The environmental impacts
were identified through the methods Ad Hoc, Check Lists and Matrix of Interaction. Further,
the significant impacts were selected and analyzed, for which environmental contro] measures
and environmental plans and programs have been proposed. Finally, a qualitative analyze of
the possible effects of environmental impacts on local primary agroindustrial production has
been made. Based on the results, 12 kinds of anthropogenic activities of high impactful
potential have been obtained, especially agriculture, in 27.9% of the total. In research, 132
environmental impacts into the waters river, among which 42 significant (43.73%), have been
identified. The anthropic activity "responsible" for the greatest number of significant
environmental impact has been the urbanization. All significant impacts were classified as
adverse, temporary and mitigated, particularly: water pollution and contamination,
eutrophication and change in the water quality in urban areas. All the environmental control
measures were from the type mitigating, among these "the implementation of the Basic
Sanitation Municipal Plan” and '"reforestation of riparian vegetation”. Among the
environmental plans and programs proposed, owing stand out the "Monitoring Plan of Water
Quality", the "Environmental Education Program" and the “Environmental Recovery
Program". The analysis of the impacts on the waters river indicated a possible influence on
the local agroindustrial production. Finally, it is expected that this study will serve as input for
the planning and deployment of public policies for water resources management and
environmental sustainability of the region, and also will contribute to the technical and
scientific bibliographic archive on the theme, quite needy in the literature, especially for the
study area.
