Resumo:
Faced with the experience in the classroom provided by the actions developed through our academic journey, we are faced with a problem that has become common both in rural schools and in urban areas, which is the disinterest of learners in relation to practice because there are many teachers who still use traditional methodologies. Faced with this, the question came: What to do to attract attention, encourage and contribute to an improvement in the performance of students in reading practices of Portuguese language classes? Having this question as support, the work had as objective to contribute to the formation of critical and thinking readers, improving the performance, their abilities and taste for the reading; evaluating the impact of a performative reading strategy on the interpretation of the texts using the dramaturgical texts. Having as subjects the students of the 3rd year of high school of the State School of Elementary and Secondary Education Journalist José Leal Ramos, located in São João do Cariri-PB, classified as a school in the countryside.
