Resumo:
This research had as objective to know the level of perception of Elementary School students in schools in Paraíba, on the subject of agroecology and environmental education, allowing them to develop sustainable activities in the use of natural resources. The research was carried out at the State School Francisco de Assis Gonzaga, located in the municipality of Prata-PB, and at the Agrotécnica Dep. Evaldo Gonçalves de Queiroz School, located in the municipality of Sumé-PB. This is a descriptive and exploratory work, whose focus is on knowing the perception of elementary school students, on the issues that involve agroecology and environmental education. The respondent public of the research was composed by students of the day shift of the 8th and 9th grade classes, from the age of 13 to 19, totaling 46 students in the city of Prata-PB and 7th grade students aged between 12 and 14 totaling 32 students, in the municipality of Sumé-PB. The results obtained showed that the majority of students of E.E.F. Evaldo Gonçalves de Queiroz, located in the municipality of Sumé-PB, presented a greater knowledge of the subject of agroecology and environmental issues, but also knew how to differentiate the questions regarding the analysis between agroecological practices and conventional practices, compared to the students of the State School Francisco de Assis Gonzaga, located in the municipality of Prata-PB, which may be related, that the students of the municipality of Sumé have a greater experience of the field, within the school environment, considering that the students live in the rural area. Thus, providing spaces of interaction allows new concepts to be generated, enabling healthy transformations in school and in the population.
