Résumé:
This research was developed under field conditions of the Station of Treatment of
Sewer of the Company of Water and Sewers of Paraíba, in the city of Campina Grande, Paraíba state,
Brazil. The objective was to verify the effect of wastewater depths (367, 505, 643 and 781 mm) in the
presence and in the absence of nitrogen and phosphorus in the doses of 90 and 60 kg ha-1 of N and P,
respectively, plus two additional treatments irrigated with 643 mm with water of provisioning and
receiving 90 and 180 kg ha-1 of nitrogen, on the quality and technological characteristics of the fiber of
the brown cotton, cultivate BRS 200 (Gossypium hirsutum L.). The experimental design was in
randomized blocks in mixed factorial scheme (2 x 2 x 4) + 2, with three repetitions. There was
significant effect among the wastewater depths tested on the prolongation to rupture and the
micronaire index. There was not significant effect with the absence and the presence of the nitrogen
and phosphorus manuring on the appraised variables. There were not negative alterations for the
technological characteristics of the fiber, when domestic wastewater was used in the irrigation of the
brown fiber cotton plant.
