Resumen:
In the process of attainment of the products derived from the cassava (Manihot
esculenta Crantz), one generates residues in great amounts, causing ambient problems, mainly in
rivers. The performance of the crop of millet with the use effluent of cassava industry was evaluated in
this work as source of organic fertilization. The effluent of cassava industry was applied in five
intervals of irrigation to each 15 days after the germination. To the measure that they had been
completing the doses of effluent of cassava industry application, in the remaining period the same ones
had been substituted by water in doses equivalents. The treatment had consisted of water, effluent of
cassava industry (225m3, 475m3, 725m3) and 100 kg of N ha-1. The maximum productions of green
mass and dry, had been of 22945 and 7232 kg ha-1 with the 468 and 500m3 effluent of cassava
industry, respectively. The treatment that only received water differed statistically (p<0,05) enters too
much treatments in lesser value of green mass and drys. The effluent of cassava industry showed able
as fertilizing for crop of millet. The effluent of cassava industry application substitutes the nitrogen
fertilization and at the same time it reduces the risks of water stress.
