Resumo:
The objective of this work was examine the possibility to use a chlorophyll meter in the
detection of status nitrogen (N) deficiency. the work was conduced in the city of Viçosa, with
geographical coordinates of 20°45’54’’ south latitude and 45°52’54’’ of west longitude. The
experiment was in pots with 8dm³ of soil, 5 treatments (0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 kg of N.ha-1) with 10
repetitions. They were made 10 readings by vase to the 30, 40 and 50 DAE (days after emergency). It
was observed that different applied nitrogen doses influences the SPAD values, however the
classification was favorable only at 50 DAE.
