Análise de imóveis rurais em sub-bacias hidrográficas no município de Lavras, MG.

Abstract

- The watersheds of “Agua Limpa” and “Santa Cruz”, in Lavras (MG), Brazil, are the main sources of the water supply for Lavras city. COPASA-Water Supply Company was who made the first mapping at properties of both watersheds in 1997, but didn’t make an efficient cadastral work. The present study was done during the year of 2002 using a geographical information system for cadastring the rural properties. The main attributes studied here were the area, the slope and the vegetation. The increasing of the rural properties number and the reduction of the size of them showed the importance of data upgrade. The areas obtained by the ortophotos versus that declarated by the owners were very close, showing the efficacy of this method for registering properties at watersheds. Studies of terrain slope confirmed that the majority of properties have agricultural capacity.
