Resumo:
This paper analyzes the reasons for the persecution to the Bahian singer-songwriter Raul
Santos Seixas in the context of the military Regime under which Brazil was overwhelmed in
1964 and 1985. The study gives more detail, in the period between 1973 and 1974, when they
were released the LPs Krig-Ha, B.c. and Gita, respectively. The choice of the same to the
present study is explained by the fact that from the success of Raul, who carne from the
release of these LPs, the repressive system spent watching him more closely. From the facts
that inform about the persecution that the singer suffered in this decade, the objective of this
work is to discuss why did this persecution through the study of part of what has written about
the singer interviews ally that granted, a documentary about the same and the lyrics of songs
of the aforementioned albums. This work aims to discuss the questions quoted above in order
to (also) demonstrate the importance of diversification of academic papers about this period
from sources produced at the same time, as the songs, for example. It is expected that from it
the interest in the use of music as a source as well as the interest in the recent history of Brazil
to grow even more so that more jobs are produced on the subject.
