Resumen:
Applied mathematics is a branch of mathematics that uses mathematical tools to better solve such problems, but which is little explored or even overlooked by high school teachers. Mathematical optimization, for example, has a wide range of applications in economics, agriculture, engineering, transportation, in short, it fits into everything, and can be presented to high school students. Among these, the optimization of quadratic functions, discrete functions, some continuous functions, and applications of inequality of means stand out. Another tool with free access that is little used by teachers and that can be used on both computers and mobile devices is the GeoGebra software, a graphical tool with a wide range of applications. Thus, this present work aims to show what mathematical optimization is and problems that involve its use with the applicability of GeoGebra as the main tool.
