Abstract:
A challenge for the environment approach, the ambience of the cities becomes a
question that deserves special attention in studies of urban hidrology, therefore the lack of planning is
one of the main agents that cause the degradation of the urban ambience. The use of a cadastral
planialtimetric survey, ortofotographies and geographic information system, have subsidized the study
of the urban occupation in the sub-basin of the Centenário stream in Lavras-MG. The work had as
objective to analyze, through crossed tabulation, the class of permeability and declivity in the subbasin,
verifying the effect of the urban mesh in the Use and Occupation of the Soil. The analysis of the
results showed that in the crossed tabulation, the impermeable class > 70% is characterized by a
greater percentage of urban occupation related to the declivities presented in the map. The general
characteristic of related urban occupation with declivity happens in the class Soft Ondulate/Ondulate
and Ondulate/Wavy Ondulate class a total of 26,36% and 31,05%. It was concluded that the employed
methodology revealed an important instrument of control of the urban occupation in hidrographics
sub-basins, assisting in the taking of short-term decision, enabling still to subsidize the municipal
laws, preserving the environment and welfare in the cities.
